生物膜(biofilm)是依附於表面的微生物群落，而研究發現不少精油成份可以抑制真菌生物膜的形成，包括桉油醇 (1,8-cineole)、丁香油酚(eugenol)、沉香醇 (linalool), 萜品烯-4-醇(terpinen-4-ol)、α-松油醇 (α-terpineol)、牻牛兒醛 (geranial) 、牻牛兒醇(geraniol)等。
